IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR YOUR UPCOMING PAYROLL

Dear Member,

 

Please, read below an important update regarding the 2022 annual wage increase for the Cleaning Services Award and the Superannuation Guarantee change. These changes may effect your upcoming payroll, so we recommend checking that your systems are updated to reflect these changes.

Cleaning Services Award 2022 - Annual Wage increase from the 1 July 2022

 

The Fair Work Commission announced on 15 June 2022 that a national annual wage increase of 5.2% and a minimum increase of $40 per week will apply to all full-time employees covered by a modern award. Increases also apply to part-time and casual employees.  

 

This means the National Minimum wage will increase to $812.60 per week.  For employees who are paid above $869.60 per week, the increase will be 4.6%. 

 

The increase applies to the Cleaning Services Award 2022. If you have a weekly pay run that starts on Monday, the new rates will apply from Monday 4 July.

Superannuation Guarantee

From 1 July 1 2022 the superannuation guarantee has increased from 10% to 10.5%. Please ensure that you update this in your payroll systems.

 

In addition, the $450 threshold for payable superannuation has also been scrapped from the 1st of July meaning that all eligible employees will be entitled to superannuation from the first dollar of wages.
